Founded in 2008 by Jennifer Duensing and Angela Huang, the goal of the AUC Spouses Organization Book Club is to broaden our literary knowledge and have fun while doing so! We encourage a selection of books from varied genres; fiction to memoirs, non-fiction to plays, sci-fi to biographies.

Who: Anyone can join! The members of AUC Spouses Organization Book Club have varied and diverse backgrounds. We are wives, fiancés, girlfriends, (guys can join too!), mothers, musicians, teachers, therapists, researchers, students, etc. We are united by our love of reading!

When: Meetings are held by members every three weeks and generally last two hours. Each meeting consists of refreshments, book discussion, and book swaps.

Format: The host provides a friendly atmosphere (and snacks) in which to discuss their book selection. Members are encouraged to finish the reading and bring questions (although, the host generally has questions lined-up). This helps keep the discussion on topic. Although we may have differing opinions on a book/topic/author, we encourage everyone to speak out. This often leads to a lively discussion! The next host then chooses a date for their meeting and sends an evite to all the members. We read their book and meet again in 3 weeks! New members are welcome to come and observe any meeting, i.e. you don’t have to read the book to check it out :)
